When I first got onto the internet in the 90′s, the world wide web was very different than what it is today.

There were good Islamic websites online.  Two that I frequented a lot and still exist today are IslamOnline and Islamicity.

Why are they worth visiting? Let’s find out…

Journey To Mecca - In The Footsteps of Ibn Battuta Trailer

The goal of a video trailer is to entice us into watching the documentary or movie it is promoting. It could also advertise a program or conference we plan on attending.

I always enjoy watching these previews of documentaries or movies that are Islam related.  Its exciting to see the different perspectives in our Muslim community and to also marvel at our glorious history.

I’ve found 5 different Muslim video trailers that I think you should watch.  They all vary in content and style. Check them out and let me know what you think in the comments.

Web Forums have existed since very early on the Internet.  Nowadays, they aren’t talked about as much as social media websites like Facebook and Myspace.

However, the communities around these forums aren’t going anywhere anytime soon.  Because of this, they will continue to be used by many and are still growing everyday.

When you are learning to read Quran, it is always good to listen to someone recite. For many growing up, it is usually the local Quran teacher or their parents.

If you are online and want to listen and read Quran at the same time, there are two great resources you can use. Both have great reciters you can follow along with like Abdul Basit, Al Husari, Mishary Al Afasy and other good Qaris.

Here is a breakdown of both websites:

iphone-3gI owned and used a Nokia 6310i cellphone for almost 5 years. It was perfect for its intended use which was talking and was built like a tank. It survived numerous falls and even worked after a cycle in my washer.

My cousin got the iPhone 3G when it first came out and showed me this (amazing) program called iQuran and I was sold immediately.

I already had a Quran MP3 player and even though these little devices were great to read and listen to the Quran, the iPhone is a lot better…

I finally decided to buy an iPhone 3G late last year and have Muslim-ized it!

This post will cover the excellent application iQuran and other cool features of the iPhone that will allow you to also Muslim-ize your phone. Also, everything mentioned here can also be done on the iPod Touch.

I always enjoy visiting Mosques during my travels. The beauty of a Mosque’s architecture is often breathtaking and the design inside it’s walls resonate tranquility.

I’ve dugg up some beautiful Masjids photos from around the world that I hope you will enjoy. I’ve tried my best to also name which country each Masjid is in.

Please let me know in the comments which are your favorites!

black-bear-banff
Photo I took in Banff, Canada in 2007

Living in Canada, I’ve had many SubhanAllah moments when seeing Allah’s manificient creations around me. I was lucky enough to see a black bear with her cubs in Banff in 2007. My wife and I stumbled upon them when we accidentally took a wrong mountain road. I snapped some pictures (from the safety of my car).

SubhanAllah or Glory be to God, for giving us the opportunity to see that.

As Muslims, nature documentaries can also give us that same sense of awe and wonder of the Glory that God has created in our beautiful world. There are many great documentaries that have been made. Recently, some deserve special mention for their SubhanAllah-ness.

Here are the top 5 nature documentaries that will make you go SubhanAllah!
